Reading List

There’s nothing like a good book to take your mind off your troubles or teach you something you need to know. More than ever I find I’m reading several books at once – it’s the mom’s multi-tasking skill taken to the joy of reading.

Here are some of my favorite books, arranged by topics related to out-and-out learning and those that are just for some much-needed fun!

Healthy Eating for the Whole Family – Inspiration, Education, and Recipes

Healthy Living

Raising Children

Historical Fiction (my favorite kind!)

It's never to early to learn to read!

  1. If you love historical fiction, Lady of the Butterflies by Fiona Mountain.

I am a friend of Michelle Clifton/Davila’s and I was intrigued by your blog(!). I too lived in New York and have moved to a rural area that has been quite an adjustment for me. I am inspired by your efforts.

    • I haven’t heard of that one. Thanks for the recommendation.

So glad to have you reading the blog. I’m flattered that you are here! I hope you’ll keep coming back and sharing your thoughts, Lori.

  3. I just finished “The Help” and absolutely loved it. A must-read about Mississippi on the brink of the civil rights movement in the 1960s, as told through the voices of three women: two African-American maids and one white woman. How are they connected? Read and find out!

    • Lsat night I finished People of the Book. I liked it, but it was a little bit of a downer. I loved the books by Kate Morton. Those are page turners, well written and while not super-happy, aren’t super-depressing either.
